Wells Fargo Interview Experience for FTE (On-Campus) 2022
Scared and nervous about on-campus recruitment this year? On-campus recruitment can be an intimidating process, especially for someone going through an interview for the first time. This was indeed the case for me too.
How did I get my job at Wells Fargo?
Wells Fargo had always been my dream company. When I heard that they would be participating in the on-campus interview rounds for FTE (full-time equivalent), I was on cloud nine. However, that happiness lasted for only a short while, since soon I was drowned in nerves and anxiety.
My friends shared their tough adobe interview experience with me before my turn, which just managed to scare me more.
A company as big and successful as Wells Fargo is always looking for the best talent out there. They want quick thinkers who can present strategic solutions on the spot. They are always on the hunt for professional and smart individuals who can operate efficiently in high-pressure situations. Such an individual is hard to recognize at first sight. This is why all their recruitment processes have multiple rounds to them, each as hard to pass as the other.
In my experience, the hiring managers who came to our campus were quite friendly but strict. They knew that, as students, we would be nervous about giving such an important interview.
However, they made sure not to be lenient with us so that they could identify who would be the best fit for their team and company.
What is Wells Fargo?
If you wish to be placed in a reputed firm such as Wells Fargo, it is essential that you obtain complete knowledge about the operations of the organization concerned Founded in 1852 in New York by William Fargo. At present, they have over 7200 locations in over 31 countries as well as 13,000 ATMs.
This is what I was told by my professors before the on-campus recruitment started. However, the actual process was not as intimidating as it seemed. The only difficult parts of the interview were the Wells Fargo coding questions.
The timeline of the interview
When the recruitment agents from Wells Fargo came to my campus, there were around 4 rounds to the interview process. Around 200 students were giving the interview along with me, at least in the first round, so the competition was high. As the rounds went on, the competition kept on decreasing as students were eliminated from each round.
Round 1 - Online Test
The first round was an online test conducted for nearly 200 participants. Here, there were a couple of tests. There were 3 sections to this test, and the entire test lasted for roughly an hour and 40 minutes. These 3 sections were quite simple and were as follows:
The English section had a mix of fill-ups, error correction and sentence completion. This was to determine our understanding of the language and how well we would be able to contribute to the team.
The Business section had a few analytical questions where candidates were required to interpret and draw certain conclusions from a few graphs, shares and stocks. This was to determine which candidates had a basic aptitude for the workings of a business and its growth.
The third section was the Coding section, which comprised some of the most difficult Wells Fargo coding questions. This section lasted around an hour and had 2 different questions. For me, there was quite a basic question of arrays and a slightly more advanced question of finding a path in a matrix.
Round 2 - Technical Interview
The second round was a technical interview round which was conducted over Zoom for me. The questions asked were mainly about coding. This round lasted for roughly an hour.
Some of these were about binary trees and strings, while others required me to code on an IDE of my choice...
